Benjamin “Jack” Leonard
Benjamin “Jack” Leonard, 72, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013.
Born Aug. 28, 1941, in Berkeley County, he was the son of the late Frank and Elsie Reid Leonard.
Jack Leonard was a devoted husband and father. He was married to Sandra M. Leonard for 53 years. He was a man full of passion and love for God and his family. He was a loving husband and father who built imperishable memories and not just things. He brought joy to all those whom he was around.
Jack was an avid hunter, who loved the outdoors and family. Jack was a man of great character and was loved by all.
In addition this wife, Sandra M. Leonard, he is survived by three daughters, Connie Brady and husband, Daryl, of Shepherdstown, Jackie Leonard of Morgan County, and Stephanie Dziurzynski and husband, Matthew, of Hedgesville; five grandchildren, Benjamin Leonard, Andrea Whittington, Chloe Manning, Lee Brady, and McKenzie Brady; one great-granddaughter, Gracie Leonard; and one brother, David Leonard and wife, Linda, of Martinsburg.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Harry “Gus” Glenville, Frank, Charles, and James Leonard; and three sisters, Sue Thorpe, Edna “Nettie” Wills, and Jane Shifflett.
A celebration memorial was held at 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, at West View Baptist Church, with Pastor Johnny Kelly officiating.
