Iley O. Weller
Iley O. Weller, 95, of Shenandoah Junction, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at his residence under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born Oct. 15, 1918, in Shenandoah Junction, he was the son of John Luther Weller and Lillie (Keefer) Weller.
Mr. Weller retired from the B&O Railroad as a clerk.
He was a member of the Assembly of God.
He graduated Charles Town High School, class of 1939; and was a charter member and founder of the Shenandoah Junction Ruritan Club.
Mr. Weller served in the U.S. Army, during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Charlotte (Housden) Weller, at home; son, Iley Oliver Weller Jr. and wife, Janet, of Rio; daughters, Marie C. Hanly and husband, Martin, of West Orange, N.J., Elaine R. Reed and husband, William, of Ranson, Helen P. Mello and husband, Lewis, of Shepherdstown and Phyllis S. Harder and husband, Terry, of Shenandoah Junction; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grand- children.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Wilbert Weller, John Weller, Lloyd Weller, Marshall Weller, Oscar Weller and Harold Weller.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 10, at Bolivar Pentecostal Church, 87 Old Taylor Lane, Harpers Ferry, with Pastor Bev Turner officiating. Interment was at Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.
