Glenda Marie Parker
Glenda Marie Parker, 59, of Bunker Hill, went home to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer, on Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born Aug. 1, 1954, in Jefferson County, she was the daughter of Nancy Brown Jones and the late David S. Jones.
She was a 1972 graduate of Charles Town High School, and attended James Rumsey and classes at Shepherd University. She liked to travel, cook, crafts, and read. She retired from General Motors after 30 years.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, T. Brad Parker; one daughter, Renee Parker; daughter-in-law, Brandy Parker; two grandchildren, Isaiah and Olivia Parker; one brother, David Brown; three sisters, Jeanette Dozier, Emily Williams, and Charmanine Thomas; sisters- and brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a son, Paul Garrett Parker; brother, Michael Jones; and sister, Jennifer Jones.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Brown Funeral Home, with Pastor Roy Ambush officiating. Interment was in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
Family will receive one hour prior to services.
