John Owen Jackson

John Owen Jackson, 36, of Harpers Ferry, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014, at Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson.

Born Oct. 18, 1977, in Ranson, he was the son of Willard N. Jackson Sr. of Harpers Ferry, and the late Ann Carol Fellers Jackson. He attended the Crossroads Assembly of God Church in Shenandoah Junction.

John was a 2004 graduate of Shepherd University and was employed with Budget Pest Control. John was a two-time WV High School State Champion wrestler, and a two-time All-American wrestler. He was a fun-loving guy who loved to hunt, fish, play ball and spend time with his family. He loved his special dog, Bendi Sue.

He is survived by his father, Willard N. Jackson Sr. (Debbie Macomber) of Harpers Ferry; three daughters, Kayla Nicole Jackson, Kyleigh Roseanna Jackson and Gabriella Elaina Jackson, all of Harpers Ferry; one sister, Rose Jackson (Steve Lloyd); three brothers, Dwight Rick Jackson (Becky), Willard N. Jackson Jr. (Missy), Roy Lee Jackson (Faith), all of Harpers Ferry; four nieces, Selena, Candace, Payton and Paige Jackson; three nephews, Dalton, Storm and Patrick Jackson, all of Harpers Ferry; and former wife, Darla Jackson of Harpers Ferry.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Mary Fellers; paternal grandparents, Thomas and Marguerite Jackson; and special cousin, Wayne Wesley Jackson Jr.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, with Pastor Bruce Singhas officiating. Interment was in Rosedale Cemetery in Martinsburg.
