Charles Tice Tennant
Charles Tice Tennant, 80, of Shepherdstown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born Jan. 25, 1934 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Charles Elmer Tennant and Sara Tice Tennant.
Tice was a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired from 3M Company with 35 years of service.
He was a life member of Christ Reformed Church in Shepherdstown where he had served many times on the Consistory.
He was a member of the Shepherdstown Volunteer Fire Department since 1952. He also was a member of Mt. Nebo Lodge No. 91 A.F. & A.M and Scottish Rite of Freemasonry S. J. USA 32nd degree.
During Tice’s youth, he was a member of the Shepherdstown Boy Scout Troop 33. He had many interests and hobbies which included antiques, trains, and working on vintage autos – especially MGs, and was a charter member of the Norwalk Car Club.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rose Anne Miller Tennant; one son, William “Bill” Tice Tennant and his companion, Tammy Carr, of Shenandoah Junction; one daughter, Anne L. Tennant and husband, Joseph Swift, of Bealeton, Virginia; one sister, Rae Tennant Banks and husband, Tom, of Williamsport, Maryland; and two nieces and one nephew.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Christ Reformed Church.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. one hour prior to the service.
