Patricia Ann Hansbury
Loving wife and mother Patricia Ann Hansbury, nee Wilkinson, 77, of Shepherdstown, passed peacefully away Friday, July 4, 2014, at St Luke’s Hospice House in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Born on March 13, 1937, in Albany, New York, she was the daughter of the late William T. Wilkinson and Anna Haley Wilkinson. She was the wife of the late William J. Hansbury Jr.
She was graduated from the Academy of Holy Names, in Albany, New York, and attended Immaculata College, in Malvern, Pennsylvania.
Pat was the director of Religious Education at Immaculate Conception Church in Denton, Texas, and was a market researcher with the Bauman Agency in Dallas, Texas.
An avid volunteer, Pat gave her time and talent to numerous organizations, including the Glenside Junior Every Woman’s Club, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Blue Bell Elementary School, Denton Independent School District, Montgomery County Democratic Committee, and the Catholic Church.
Pat was an enthusiastic gardener and a well-known cook. She was the parish events coordinator at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Shepherdstown.
Pat was on the board of the Cross Timbers Girl Scout Council, Immaculate Conception Parish Council, Central West Virginia Red Cross, and St. Agnes Parish Council.
Pat was a member of the Immaculata College Basketball team and was a championship swimmer and bowler.
Pat enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
She was a member of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church.
She is survived by her four children. Jennifer H. McKenna, of Hellertown, Pennsylvania, William J. Hansbury III of Denton, Alison M. Fleck, of Allentown, Pennsylvania and Brendan J. Hansbury, of Shepherdstown; three grandsons, William Joseph Hansbury IV, Daniel Sean Hansbury and David Hansbury Fleck.
In addition to her husband, parents, and siblings, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Anne Marie Hansbury.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 106 South Duke St., Shepherdstown, with the Rev. T. Mathew Rowgh, celebrant.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 25, at the church with a Christian wake service at 8 p.m. and will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the church.
