A. Robert Rudy

A. Robert Rudy, 78, of Martinsburg, passed away Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at Heartland of Martinsburg.

Born June 5, 1936, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Austin O. and Margaret Virginia Ellis Rudy.

He was a 1954 graduate of Martinsburg High School, and attended Shepherd College.

He was a 50-year-plus member of Second Baptist Church, and he owned and operated the Ridenour Travel Club since 1954.

He retired from General Motors in 2000, with 27 years of service; and had been previously employed with the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, D.C.

He is survived by one sister, Helen M. Ringer of Martinsburg; one niece, Susan A. Ringer, of Martinsburg; two great-nephews, G.W. Ringer III and wife, Erica, and son, Jadon, of Hedgesville; and Brian M. Ringer of Martinsburg.

He was preceded in death by one nephew, G. Warren Ringer II.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 8, 2014, at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Brown Funeral Home, with Pastor Christopher B. Johnson officiating. Interment was in Rosedale Cemetery.
