Sandra Leigh Lesh
Sandra Leigh Lesh, 64, of Shepherdstown, passed away Sept. 5, 2014.
She was born in 1949, at Fort Meade, Maryland, to Harry and Ethel Cook.
Sandy attended Catonsville High School and graduated from Munich American High School, class of 1967. Sandy earned an AA in Early Childhood Education from Catonsville Community College.
She was married to Julian R. Lesh for 45 amazing and loving years. She was survived by her mother, Ethel Cook; sister, Debbie Cook-Goldman; and loving children her loving children, her son, Bruce, his wife, Christine, and their son, Ryan Lesh; and her daughter, Ami, and her husband, Christopher Snow.
Sandy was a beloved nursery school teacher for more than 30 years in Maryland, New York and West Virginia, where she became Director of Berkeley County Parks and Rec. Preschool. She also substituted in Jefferson County schools for 15 years. Sandy touched the lives of hundreds of children, instilling self-confidence and a love of learning.
Sandy loved crafting, miniatures, quilting, counter cross-stitch, and everything British. She traveled the world, embracing new experiences and ideas. She will be remembered as a wonderful friend and an incredible wife, Mom and Nana, who will be greatly missed and cherished always.
