Sarah A. Morrison Dye

On Nov. 9, 1923, a daughter was born in St. Albans, West Virginia, to John Wesley Morrison Jr. and Anna Virginia Bandy Morrison. On Nov. 26, 2014, Sarah Ann Morrison Dye passed away. Sarah was the widow of Jack Smith Dye, who passed away in 1960.
She graduated from Morganton Business College, held a Bachelor’s Degree from Shepherd College, and an MA from West Virginia University. Sarah was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and was a public school teacher, retiring in 1985 from Berkley County. She was of the Protestant faith.
She leaves two daughters, Deborah Lynn Dye Tucker and Pamela Beth Dye Walker; three grandchildren, Michael Patrick Bean, Andrew Lee Walker, and Sarah Beth Walker; and three great-grandchildren, Peyton Elizabeth, Rheagan and Andrew Bean.
She is also survived by brothers, John Wesley Morrison III and Richard Zane Morrison; and a sister, Mary Blaine Sutherland.
A funeral service was held 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at The Veterans Administration Chapel in Martinsburg, with Dr. Hinzman officiating. Burial followed in Rosedale Cemetery.
