Dana Lee Halbert

Dana Lee Halbert, 65, of Shenandoah Junction, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Berkeley Medical Center.

Born June 2, 1949 in Buffalo, New York he was the son of the late Walter Lee and Mary Allen Halbert.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Whitman Halbert; one brother, Duane Halbert; two sisters, Suzanne Hutter, and Sally Schimpf; and devoted step-mother, Louise Halbert.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Halbert.

Dana is remembered by his family as friends as a gentle soul who would never hurt anything. He always had a magic trick ready to entertain and delight children. He loved the history of firearms, and enjoyed fishing. He had a willing heart to teach others. His wisdom and insight were much appreciated. He is loved, and he is missed.

A Celebration of His Life memorial service was held on Monday, Dec. 1, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Hospice of the Panhandle In-Patient Facility, 320 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville.

Donations may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle or the Eastern Panhandle Free Clinic.
