David Ray Crawford

David Ray Crawford, 62, of Arden, passed away Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at his home, with his family and friends by his side, after eight months of treatment for cancer.

Born July 17, 1952, in Martinsburg, he was the son of Betty L. Locke Crawford and the late Joseph T. Crawford.

He graduated from Martinsburg High School, Class of 1970, and attended Shepherd College pursuing his degree in business.

He was a member of Blairton United Methodist Church and Martinsburg Lodge #120, Loyal Order of Moose.

He was employed with AT&T for nearly 14 years, and with Scientific Games Inc. of Charleston, as a field technician affiliated with the WV Lottery. He was also employed by V.E. Mauck before his retirement.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Kathy K. Hawn Crawford; one daughter, Kara Dawn Crawford MacFarlane and husband, Jason; granddaughter, Adriene Leah MacFarlane; four brothers, Richard Crawford, William “Bill” Crawford, Garland E. Crawford, and Russell L. Crawford and wife, Christine; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and exceptional friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger Allen and Daniel Crawford and a sister, Patricia Rose Moore.

Celebration of life service was held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Brown Funeral Home, with the Rev. Russell McClatchey officiating.
