Naomi Demory Miller
Naomi Demory Miller, 88, of Falling Waters, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014.
Born Aug. 1, 1926 in Jefferson County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Irene Moler Demory.
She was a graduate of Shepherdstown High School and was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church in Marlowe, where she served on the church council and was a member of the Shinning Lights Sunday School Class. She was a 4-H leader with Wetumpka Club. She was also a member of the AARP and the UCT Council #209. Additionally, she was a member and a past Senior Councilor of the Auxiliary #223, as well as a past Grand Councilor of the District of Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. She worked with Grace Pierce Catering.
She is survived by one son, George A. Miller, of Spring Mills; three daughters, Mida Clipp, of Hagerstown, Rebecca Hall, of Martinsburg, and Mary Butts, of Gerrardstown; seven grandchildren, Dawn Kelley, George Miller II, Mida V. Clipp, William Hall, Norman Hall, Tina Butts, and Krista Butts; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Moler, of Winchester, and Rebecca Prather, of Orlando, Florida; one brother, Dale Demory, of Martinsburg; and a number of nieces and nephews, as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey A. Miller, in 1993; three sisters, Margurite Huffer, Annabel Osborn, and Velma Moler; and two brothers, Edwin Lee Demory and Howard Demory.
Funeral service were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, at Harmony United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terri Cofiell officiating. Interment was in Falling Waters Presbyterian Church Cemetery at Spring Mills.
