Craig Samuel Poisal

Craig Samuel Poisal, age 70, of Paragould, Arkansas, son of the late Alvin K. and Hazel J. Poisal, went home to be with our Lord on Jan. 25, 2015, after an extended illness due to complications of Lyme disease.

Craig S. Poisal was born Feb. 26, 1944, at home in Martinsburg. He graduated from Martinsburg High School in 1962 and Shepherd College (University) in 1968. He also pursued a master’s degree at Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania.

He taught math, chemistry, and physics over a 44 year period at Martinsburg High School and Boonsboro High School.

Most importantly to him, he was baptized into the Church of Christ for remission of sins at age 21 according to Acts 2:38.

He is leaving behind his loving wife, Charlotte, of Paragould; three daughters and one son, Sara Alderton (Shawn) and Lauren Wilson (Hunter), of Martinsburg, Janelle Osbourn, of Mineral, Virginia, and Craig Poisal Jr., of Florida; a sister, Carolyn Ropp (Philip), of Martinsburg; brother, Alvin “Skeets” Poisal (Janet); grandson, Jaylen Poisal; step-grandaughters, Jenna and Kendall Alderton, of Martinsburg; stepdaughter, Melissa Bradner; stepgrandaughter, Madeline Bradner, of Howell, Michigan; stepdaughter, Chantel Perez (Martin), of Abilene, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home in Paragould, Arkansas.

Another memorial service will be held April 4, 2015, in Martinsburg at the Central Church of Christ, on Waverly Court, with visitation at 1 p.m. and service at 2 p.m.
