Mary Elizabeth Stalnaker

Mary Elizabeth Stalnaker, 86, of Martinsburg, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 27, 2015, at Berkeley Medical Center.

Born Oct. 28, 1928, she was the daughter of the late, James Franklin and Betha Edmonia Lampe Farmer.

She was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.

Mary retired from teaching in Frederick County, Virginia. She received her bachelor’s degree from Shepherd College and was a member of Phi Sigma Chi sorority. She was a Martinsburg High School graduate, class of 1946.

She is survived by her daughter, Darice Melissa “Dee” Snyder, of Martinsburg; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and good friends, Jackie Dailey and Iris Tutwiler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Stalnaker; and three brothers, Douglas T. Farmer, Earl F. Farmer, and Dr. Talmadge W. A. Farmer,

Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Van Marsceau officiating. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
