Dorothy Innis Vantine
Dorothy Innis Vantine, 93, of Berryville, Virginia, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015 in Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury, Winchester, Virginia.
Mrs. Vantine was born Aug. 13, 1921 in Carpenter, South Dakota, the daughter of the late Andrew Harmes and Nellie Maude Cressey Harmes.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church, an avid bridge player and a volunteer in her church as well as the community.
She was married to the late C. Doyle Innis. Later, she married Col. Donald A. Vantine, U. S. Army Ret. who died on Sept. 23, 2014.
Surviving are a son, Michael Innis of Ft. Collins, Colorado; two daughters, Liz Garber and her husband, Bob, of Madison, Virginia and Susie Dom and her husband, Lance, of Shepherdstown; two step-sons, Don Vantine and his wife, Lois, of Staunton, Virginia and Scot Vantine and his wife, Sue, of Boyce, Virginia; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury Chapel, Winchester with Mr. R. K. Shirley III officiating. Burial was private.
