Charlotte Ann Aikens

Charlotte Ann Aikens, 64, of Martinsburg passed away on March 10, 2015, surrounded by family and friends.

Born on May 20, 1950, Charlotte was the daughter of the late Emery and Lottie Ingram of Shepherdstown.

Charlotte was educated and certified as a Licensed Practical Nurse at James Rumsey Technical School. She worked for the VA for 27 years, first at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, then at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Hagerstown, Maryland. She was a caring nurse who made a lasting impact on the lives of veterans and her co-workers.

She was an avid reader and loved gardening, art, and music. Above all, she was a deeply devoted and beloved mother and grandmother.

Charlotte is survived by her two daughters, Kristina Aikens and Shelley Kurt, and their husbands; her granddaughter Lucy Kurt; and her three brothers, Tom Ingram, James Ingram, and Martin Ingram.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
