Marian Esther (Cremer) Buckner

Marian Esther (Cremer) Buckner, 87, of Shepherdstown, passed away April 13, 2015 after a brief illness.

Marian was born in Minonk, Illinois on Jan. 29, 1928 to Herman F. and Esther L. (Gerner) Cremer.

Marian received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University Illinois and a Master’s Degree in Health Education from the University of Maryland.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Henry Buckner and her brother Donald H. Cremer.

She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne K..Andrews (R. Michael) and Julie L. Morrison (Alan); her brother, Richard T. Cremer (Claudette); her grandsons, R. Stephen Andrews (Elise), Donald H. Andrews and Corben Z. Morrison; her sister-in-law, Corrine Buckner Neer and Joyce Buckner Mills (Wilbur) and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Marian had many passions in life including her family and friends; her painting, gardening, farmland preservation and responsible food growth and production.

Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at the Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Randall Tremba officiating.

Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
