Margaret Byers Moore

Margaret Byers Moore, 96, of Shenandoah Junction, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Elmcroft of Martinsburg.

Born Nov. 21, 1918 in Jefferson County, she was the daughter of the late Elmer N. Byers Sr. and Isadora Martha Bowers Byers.

She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Shepherdstown.

She retired from Shepherd College as a secretary.

Margaret is survived by her son, Max S. Moore and wife, Alvyce; four grandchildren, Susan Moore, Max R. Moore, Kate Corbitt and Samuel Moore; and four great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Zack, Joel and Nate; two sisters-in-law, Eleanor V. Kisner Byers and Barbara H. Byers; and also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Moore; two brothers, Elmer Byers Jr. and Benjamin Byers; and two sisters, Roberta Byers and Ruby Shade.

Services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, at Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Probst officiating. Interment was in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
