Carrie L. Horton

Carrie L. Horton, 55, of Shenandoah Junction, died Sunday, May 10, 2015, at her residence under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born April 8, 1960, in Bethesda, Maryland, she was the daughter of Carol Dean “Sonny” Lewis and Nancy (Jones) Lewis.

Mrs. Horton was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.

She was of the Methodist faith and a graduate of Shepherd College.

Carrie was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 1028, Charles Town.

In addition to her stepmother, Brenda Lewis, of Aurora, Ohio, she is survived by her husband of 33 years, James E. Horton, at home; daughter, Nicole Lee Ainsworth and husband, Bruce, of Harpers Ferry; son, James D. Horton, of Ranson; grandchildren, Brooke Grove, Tia Ainsworth, Darien Horton, Jaedon Gratton, Kailyn Horton and Jessica Ainsworth; and brother, Michael Schleeter and wife, Vivian, of Leesburg, Florida.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cameron M. Horton; and sister, Dorie Fulcher.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today, May 15, at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, with Pastor Ollie Henson and Pastor John Unger officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, Maryland.
