Wilma Zoe (Gant) Braddock

Wilma Zoe (Gant) Braddock, 93, of Shepherdstown, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2015, at Williamsport Assisted Living, under the loving care of her family and staff.

Born Nov. 24, 1921, in Greely, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Sallie Gant.

She spent her childhood in Salem, Missouri, and moved with her family to St. Louis. During World War II, she worked at McQuay-Norris and, after the war, she met and married Charles L. Braddock in 1947. They celebrated 60 years of marriage before Charles passed away in 2007.

She retired from the May Company and they moved to Shepherdstown to be near family.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Benedict and husband, Dow, of Shepherdstown; four grandchildren, Deirdre (Brad), MaryBeth, Lorenzo, and Emily (Rock); five great-grandchildren, Sara, Michael, Dow, Harper, and Jake; her sister, Mary McGrath, of St. Charles, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Judith Ann Tannen; and her sister, Bea Graves.

Funeral and burial services were private.
