Patricia Clara Worley Burkette

Patricia Clara Worley Burkette, 70, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Monday, June 29, 2015, at Winchester Medical Center.

Mrs. Burkette was born in 1945, in Assurance, West Virginia, the daughter of the late William T. and Vernie M. Worley.

She was a graduate of Greenville High School, Class of 1963. She also graduated from Concord College where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics as well as a Master’s Degree in Counseling from West Virginia University. Mrs. Burkette was employed by Shepherd University, Shepherdstown, retiring in 2012, after many years of dedicated service. She was a member of Pikeside United Methodist Church as well as the Gardners’ Exchange Group. Pat was a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend too many, who will be greatly missed. She will be forever remembered for her love and compassion.

She married David A. Burkette on Oct. 21, 1973.

Surviving with her husband is her sister, Elizabeth Mckee of Roanoke, Virginia, as well as many extended family members and devoted friends.

One brother, Larry Worley, preceded her in death.

A memorial service was conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, at Pikeside United Methodist Church with Pastor Richard Broome officiating.

Patricia’s family wishes to offer their most sincere gratitude to her cousins, Mike and Sue and her soul sister, Pat, for the unwavering support and dedication to her care.
