Stephen C. Bean

Stephen Clyde Bean, 63, formerly of Bunker Hill, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, at Howard County General Hospital.

Born Aug. 30, 1951, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Clyde Woodrow Bean and Gloria Lillian Curlee Bean.

He was a 1971 graduate of Shepherdstown High School. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served in Vietnam.

Stephen was retired from Crown Cork and Seal Co.

He is survived by two brothers, Larry Bean, of Bunker Hill and Michael Bean, of Inwood; three sisters, Shirley Wertz and husband, Robert, of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Margaret Ways and husband, Douglas, of Bunker Hill, and Kathy Porter and husband, Dave, of Scottdale, Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug, 31, 2015, at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel, in Inwood, with Chaplain James Pierce officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Interment at Arlington National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
