Catherine Gail Hanak Miller
Catherine Gail Hanak Miller, 55, of Shepherdstown, passed away Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at John Hopkins Medical Center, Baltimore.
Born Feb. 19, 1960, in Austin, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Abigail Donnelly Hanak and Dr. Walter Karl Hanak Ph.D, of Shepherdstown.
Catherine was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church, Shepherdstown. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren in Atlanta, Georgia; her three cats; and cross-stitching. She also loved traveling and visiting national parks. She recently retired as a computer specialist from the I.R.S. Martinsburg Computing Center.
In addition to her father, she is survived by a son, James Coulter and wife Kelley, of Shinnston; a daughter, Nicole “Nikki” Carignan and husband Evan, of Atlanta; a brother, David Hanak, of Tampa, Florida; two sisters, Cynthia Hunter and husband Bryce, of Roanoke, Virginia and Theresa Petrey, and husband Bennie, of Little Rock, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Avery and Landon Carignan; six nieces and nephews, Marynella and Danielle Hanak, Abigail and Lillian Hunter, and Jason and Zackary Petrey; and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at St. Agnes Catholic Chapel with the Rev. Conan Timoney celebrant. Interment was in the St. Peter’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Harpers Ferry.
