Joan Marie “Nanny” Tobin
Joan Marie “Nanny” Tobin, 80, of Martinsburg, passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 2015 at Winchester Medical Center.
Born Nov. 14, 1935 in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late, Michael Hume Ramsburg and Goldie Mae Davis Ramsburg.
She was a member of Beth Haven Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 896.
Joan was a waitress at the Charles Town Races.
She is survived by two sons, Michael “Mike” Tobin and wife, Mary Ann, of Berryville, and Edwin “Punkie” Tobin and wife, Jane, of Shepherdstown; two daughters, Rebecca K. “Becky” Emmons, of Hedgesville, and Daisy Tobin and Lewis Craig Jr., of Shenandoah Junction; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Amos P. Tobin Sr.; one daughter, Myrtle Tobin; two sons, Joseph “Buck” Tobin and Amos ” Pete” Tobin Jr. and his wife, Carolyn; one grandson, Edwin Tobin Jr; one son-in-law, Robert “Robuck” Emmons; and three sisters, Kitty Myers, Lucy Mason and Maudie Murphy.
Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Maraugha officiating. Interment was held in Rosedale Cemetery.
