Helen K. Morotti

Helen K. Morotti, 95, of Shepherdstown, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, at her residence under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born March 15, 1920, in Bedford, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Homer Koontz and Alma (Horner) Koontz.

Mrs. Morotti was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.

She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Shepherdstown and St. Rita’s Catholic Church, Dundalk, Maryland.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Morotti, of Shepherdstown and Delores Morotti and husband, Bill, of Baltimore, Maryland; son, James Morotti and wife, Ann, of Florida; three grandchildren, Brian Pearson, Albert Morotti and Christopher Morotti; and four

great-grandchildren, Brian Amelio Pearson, James Albert Morotti II, Brandon Morotti and Christopher Michael Morotti.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Amelio Morotti, who died in 2009; three sisters, Thelma, Laverne and Blanche; and brother, Dave Koontz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 106 S. Duke St., Shepherdstown, with Father T. Mathew Rowgh officiating.

Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Holy Cross Cemetery, Glen Burnie, Maryland.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10 at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home; and from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, at the church.
