David Aaron Burkette

David Aaron Burkette, 73, of Frederick County, Virginia, formerly of Shepherdstown, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at his home.

Mr. Burkette was born in 1942, in Ahouski, North Carolina, the son of the late Walter D. and Mary J. Burkette.

He was a college graduate receiving a Bachelor’s Degree. Mr. Burkette was a junior high school and high school art teacher in Maryland. He enjoyed restoring his Morgan car and was a member of the Morgan Car Club.

Mr. Burkette was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity at East Carolina University, Greenville, North Carolina.

He married Patricia Clara Worley on Oct. 21, 1973. She preceded him in death on June 29, 2015.

Surviving is his sister-in-law, Libby McKee, of Roanoke, Virginia.

His brother-in law, Larry Worley, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, in the Chapel at the Village at Orchard Ridge, 400 Clocktower Ridge Drive, Winchester, VA 22603 with the Rev. Bill Boldin and the Rev. Richard Broome officiating.
