Frances Elizabeth (Boyd) Magaha
Frances Elizabeth (Boyd) Magaha, 83, of Charles Town, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016 at Care Haven Center, Martinsburg.
Born Nov. 23, 1932 in Bardane, she was the daughter of Herbert Lester Boyd and Elizabeth Virginia (Creamer) Hosfeld.
For more than 20 years Mrs. Magaha was a RESA reading program aid for Jefferson County School System.
She was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church, Charles Town, where she was in the Senior Bible Class.
She was a graduate of Shepherdstown High School, Shepherdstown, and attended Shepherd College, Shepherdstown.
She was a member of Jefferson County, WV Retired Teachers Association. She was a 4-H leader for many decades and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Roy Marcus Magaha, at home; sons, Roy Michael Magaha and wife, Debra, of Charles town, and Dennis Lane Magaha and wife, Gail, of Kearneysville; daughter, Kim Ruh and husband, John, of Charles Town; grandchildren, Wayne Magaha, Joey Magaha, Coty Magaha, Marci Magaha, Stacey Day, Angie Kiser, and foster granchild, Amanda Smith; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Peggy L. Hendricks and husband, Danny, of Martinsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Frederick Casper Hosfeld; foster son, Jack Burcker; and one brother, Jack Boyd.
To honor her wishes, Frances donated herself to the West Virginia Anatomical Board for Medical Research.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
