Cedric Allen Sullivan

Cedric Allen Sullivan, 81, of Bakerton, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016, at Shenandoah Center in Charles Town.

Born Nov. 19, 1934, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Hodgie Jones.

He was a member of Bakerton Bible Church.

Cedric was a graduate of Harpers Ferry High School, class of 1952; Shepherd College, class of 1969; and West Virginia University, class of 1972, with a Masters Degree in Education. He also had a degree from Washington Bible College Institute of Theology. Following Kearneysville Elementary and North Jefferson Elementary, Cedric retired as principal of Shipley Elementary School in Harpers Ferry, in 1989. He was pastor of Buck Hill Independent Bible Church from 1964 to 1984 and Bakerton Church of God (now Bakerton Bible Church) for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara B. Sullivan, at home; two sons, Allen K. Sullivan and wife, Becky, of Bakerton and Dwayne A. Sullivan, of Bakerton; three grandchildren, Megan A. Sullivan, Matthew R. Sullivan and Michelle B. Sullivan; and numerous cousins.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016, at the Bakerton Bible Church, 662 Carter Ave., Bakerton, with Pastor Mark Henson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from noon until the time of service.
