Albert W. Henderson, Jr.
Albert W. Henderson, Jr., 86, Martinsburg resident, passed away May 28, 2016, at the home of relatives in Parkersburg. His wife of 47 years, Sharon Friend Henderson, was with him when he died. He had long suffered from Parkinson’s, Disease and other health problems.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois, April 9, 1930, the son of the late Albert and Elizabeth Henderson, and grew up in Tinley Park, Illinois.
He graduated from Joliet Junior College and the University of Illinois. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. A photographer and writer, he worked for various companies and organizations. At the age of 65, he received a master’s degree from Northwestern University in
Evanston, Illinois. He later taught writing and English at the college level.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Lisa Henderson, of Tucson, Arizona; two nieces; and a nephew.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church, 100 W. Washington St., Shepherdstown.
