Arthur V. Scott, Jr.

Arthur V. Scott, Jr., 64, of Shepherdstown, died Friday, June 3, 2016, at the VA Medical Center, Martinsburg.
Born Oct. 18, 1951, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Arthur V. Scott, Sr. and Shirley (Jones) Scott.
Mr. Scott retired from the 157 Army National Guard Military Police.
He was a member of St. John’s Baptist Church and Asbury United Methodist Church, Shepherdstown.
Mr. Scott served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, where he received a Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Paula L. Hamilton Scott, at home; daughter, Tamarra A. Lee and husband, Verdel, of Martinsburg; son, Victor “R.L.” Hamilton, Jr., of Martinsburg; three grandchildren;
two sisters, Sandra Scott Hassel, of Chester, Pennsylvania and Teresa Scott Chew, of Philadelphia;
aunt, Connie Barron; two uncles, Ronald and Joseph Jones; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanette Crittenden and Catherine Scott.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 9, at Asbury United Methodist Church, Shepherdstown, with the Rev. Robert Jackson and the Rev. Rudolph Bropleh officiating.
Interment was at Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.
A very heartfelt thank you to those who have extended phone calls and cards. It has been comforting. And to the Hospice of the Panhandle and VA Medical Center Hospice for their gracious and loving care.
