Ryan Keith Mumaw

Ryan Keith Mumaw, 21, of Charles Town, was taken from us too soon on Tuesday, July 19, 2016.

Born May 15, 1995, in Winchester, Virginia, he was the son of Keith Lewis Mumaw and Marion Michelle Mattei Mumaw of Charles Town.

Ryan was of the Christian faith. He was a graduate of Washington High School, class of 2013. He was to be a senior this fall at WVU, studying business. He was a true Mountaineer fan. Ryan was employed at Locust Hill Golf Course. He played high school baseball and excelled at golf. He continued to be an avid golfer and enjoyed playing many sports. His favorite pastime was working out, hanging out with his family and friends and his little Yorkie, “Gizmo.”

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Katelyn T. Mumaw, at home; his brother, Dylan L. Mumaw, at home; paternal grandmother, Doris Jean Mumaw of Harpers Ferry; four aunts, Norma Jean Wilt and husband, Richard, of Charles Town, Kristine Mumaw of Charles Town, Diana Bond and companion, Don Monahan, of Charles Town, and Lisa Mason and husband, John, of Shepherdstown; four uncles, Jeffrey Mumaw and wife, Kim, of Harpers Ferry, Terry Mumaw and wife, Monica, of Harpers Ferry, Roger Mattei and wife, Kim, of Harpers Ferry, William Mattei and wife, Stacy, of Summit Point; special friend, Emily Lemley; and numerous cousins, and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Norman C. Mumaw; maternal grandparents, Roger C. Mattei and Marion E. Mattei and uncle, Norman “Jr” Mumaw.

Services were held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, with Pastor Tim May officiating.
