Christopher Paul Robinson
Christopher Paul Robinson, of Shepherdstown, died suddenly Oct. 11, 2016.
Chris was born in Reading, Massachusetts on May 5, 1955.
In childhood, he acquired a lifelong love for the outdoors and travel. This led to a career in the National Park Service, most recently as superintendent of the Historic Preservation Training Center. Chris had a passion for fine craftsmanship which meshed perfectly with his profession and was also reflected in the beautiful landscapes he created at his home.
Chris’s life was rich with many great adventures with family and friends, terrific food and wine and good music. Yet, Chris had a great appreciation for the small moments a sunset, an incoming tide, a good story.
He shared the riches of his life with his wife and best friend of 36 years, Laurie (Schrenker.) His beloved daughter, Christin of Reading, shared her dad’s love of the outdoors and travel, most recently on a family trip to Croatia.
Chris is also survived by his father, Stanley, of Reading; sisters, Erline Trites, Anne Ambrose, Amy Finlay and Carrie Feeney; and brother Nathan. Chris loved, and was loved by, his mother-in-law, his brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and devoted friends.
On Oct. 18, from 2 to 6 p.m. a celebration of Chris’s life was held at the Bavarian Inn.
