Margaret D. Plata

Margaret D. Plata, 67, of Shepherdstown, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2016, at Care Haven Center, Martinsburg.

Born Dec. 16, 1948, in Jefferson County, she was the daughter of Lloyd A. Berry Sr. and Elizabeth (Buracker) Linton.

Margaret retired as a private caregiver.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Plata, of Martinsburg; companion, Rosendo Plata, of Shepherdstown; grandchildren, Nicolas Rodriguez and Nathan Rodriguez; three sisters, Jeanne Mignot and husband, Dean, of Clearfield, Pennsylvania, Doris Franklin, and Gloria Mathis and husband, Ronald, all of Kearneysville; two brothers, Lloyd Berry Jr. and wife, Kathy, of Shepherdstown and Daniel Seal and wife, Debby, of Harpers Ferry; several nieces and nephews; and beloved canine companion, Maggie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Mary Thomas; and two brothers, Richard Berry and Robert Buracker Sr.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at New Destiny Ministry Center, 437 Border Road, Kearneysville, with Pastor Shawn Coley officiating.

Arrangements were by Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town.
