Charles Wilson Ellison

Charles Wilson Ellison, 61, went to be with the Lord and family on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017.

Born Sept. 11, 1955, in Richwood, he was the son of the late Wilson and Bonnie Knapp Ellison.

Chuck was a loving husband, father, pop pop and brother. Nothing made him more proud than being a pop pop to his three grandbabies.

He was a long-time member and past president of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce. He served many years on the Jefferson County Development Authority Board and was chairperson for the United Way of the Eastern Panhandle.

He was proud to have completed the Leadership Jefferson County program, as well as Leadership West Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Andrew.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Connie; son, Chris and his wife, Christine, of White Marsh, Maryland; daughter, Jillian and her husband, Justin, of Martinsburg; grandchildren, Carter, Claire, and Harper; sisters, Debbie Jiles, of Beckley, Jennifer Spencer, of Fenwick, Sara Jean Bennett, of Nettie, and Carrie Ellison, of Covington Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.

Chuck never met a stranger and leaves behind many, many friends.

A celebration of life will be open to friends from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Jan. 6, 2017, at the Clarion Inn Conference Center, in Harpers Ferry.
