Dorothy Helen Miller

Dorothy Helen Miller, 91, of Engle Molers Road, Shepherdstown, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, at Genesis Healthcare/Care Haven Center in Martinsburg.

Born Jan. 22, 1926, in Bakerton, she was the daughter of the late Albert S. Jamison and Daisy Drenner Jamison Parker.

After retiring from Jefferson Memorial Hospital, she spent her time enjoying the outdoors, going on trips and playing music. She could often be found sitting on her front porch swing, welcoming friends and neighbors to her home.

She is survived by two sons, James E. Miller and Robert L. Miller and daughter-in-law, Susan; one sister, Delores Manuel; one brother, Ray Jamison; two granddaughters, Cheryl Miller Arellano and Liz Miller; and two great grandsons, Christian and Michael Staubs.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William E. Miller, of 56 years; one daughter-in-law, Pamela Dreeme Cox Miller; three sisters, Louise Talley, Lillian Lloyd and Reva Furr; and five brothers, Albert Leo Jamison, Gerald Jamison, Granville Jamison, Donald Jamison and Wayne Jamison.

Graveside memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Mar. 6, at Pleasant View Memory Gardens with the Rev. Mark Henson officiating.
