Kenneth Lee Blaylock, Sr.

Kenneth Lee Blaylock, Sr., 80, of Harpers Ferry, WV passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV.

Born May 5, 1937 in Ashland, MS, he was the son of the late Vernon Blaylock and Florence Roberts Blaylock.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Harpers Ferry Ward.

He was a retired Sgt. Major in the US Army.

Kenneth was a retired camera man with ABC News with 30 years of service and President of White House News Photographers Association for seven years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Deanne Blaylock, at home; two daughters, Elizabeth Rothleutner and husband, Kurt of Martinsburg, WV and Pamela Blaylock of Charles Town, WV; two brothers, Eric Blaylock of China and Kenneth Blaylock, Jr. of Vermont; one sister, Louise Strickland, nine grandchildren, Erica, Taylor, Julie, Erik, Adam, Mary, Olivia, Kenneth III, and Caroline and one great granddaughter, Madeline.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jean Blaylock, one grandson, John David Volkmer, three brothers, Walter Vernon, David and Charlie Blaylock and one sister, Mary Nell Blaylock.

Services were held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Church of the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 237 Carriage Drive, Harpers Ferry, WV with Bishop John Van Vliet officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Shepherdstown, WV.
