Elsie V. Willingham
Elsie V. Willingham, 74, of Kearneysville, died Saturday, June 17, 2017, at her residence under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born Sept. 30, 1942, in Duffields, she was the daughter of Thomas M. Seal and Elsie V. (Henry) Seal.
Mrs. Willingham retired in 2002 from Shepherd University, as a chef. Prior, she was employed at the Charles Town Race Track.
She was a member of the Elk Branch Presbyterian Church.
Elsie was a Little League team mother and operated the concession stand.
She is survived by her daughters, Denise Poole, of Mt. Airy, Maryland and Kimberly D. Newman and husband, Channing, of Charles Town; sons, William Franklin Willingham Jr., Dwayne Scott Willingham and Tony James Willingham, all of Kearneysville; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Yost and husband, Earl, of Berkeley Springs; two brothers, Thomas Seal and wife, Dolly, of Florida and Charles Seal and wife, Bonnie, of Ranson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Franklin Willingham Sr., who died Sept. 6, 2016; sister, Maude V. Nichols; and brother, John G. Seal.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, with Chaplain Doug Knupp officiating. Interment at Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
