Priscilla G. Rude

Priscilla Gertrude Rude, 85, of Falling Waters, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Meritus Medical Center.

Born April 8, 1932, in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Karl M. Sachse and Gertrude Waterside Sachse Stevens.

She was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church for more than 60 years.

She had been past County President of the PTA, County President of the Extension Homemakers; past president and secretary of the Marlowe Club; past Worthy Matron of Hedgesville Chapter #67; and a member of the Shepherdstown Chapter #155 Order of Eastern Star; past president of the Harmony United Methodist Church Womens; and a member of the Shining Light Sunday School Class. She was also a den mother of the start-up of cub scout pack 16 of Marlowe.

She is survived by two sons, Barry Rude and wife, Susie, and Karl Rude and wife, Tammy; daughter-in-law, Deborah Rude; six grandchildren, Bill Jr., Kirk and wife, Amanda, Katie and husband, Aaron Sinclair, Audrey, Jeffrey, and Zachary Rude; eight great-grandchildren, Andrew, Joshua, Ian, Holly, Spencer and Avery Rude, and Addison and Barrett Sinclair.

She was preceded in death by her husband, E. Douglas Rude; one son, William Douglas Rude; and one grandson, Matthew Evan Rude.

Funeral service was held 11 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2017, with Pastor Terri Cofiell officiating at Harmony United Methodist Church, 9455 Williamsport Pike, Falling Waters.

Family received friends prior to the service at the church. Interment is in Rosedale Cemetery.
