Ruth E. Gruber

Ruth Ellen Gruber, 64, of Martinsburg, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017, at Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility.

Born Dec. 16, 1952, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late John Calvin and Virginia Zombro Hoffmaster.

She was a 1970 graduate of Martinsburg High School; and a 1974 graduate of Shepherd College. She taught typing and shorthand at Hagerstown Business College for five years. She was a banker for the last 31 years and currently had been employed by Summit Community Bank.

Ruth was a longtime volunteer for the Jefferson County Fair and a charter member of Jefferson County Lady Fairfax CEOS.

She is survived by her daughter, Stacey Rawlings and husband, Bill; and two precious grandchildren, Solomon and Violet.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 24, 2017, at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Sassaman and the Rev. Walter Bowers officiating. Interment is in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
