Aldena P. Bender

Aldena Pearl “Corky” Bender, 88, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, at Berkeley Medical Center.

Born Aug. 11, 1928, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Howard N. Siler and Pearl Lynch Siler.

She attended Rosemount Brethern Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Anderson and husband, James, of Thornton, Colorado and Rebecca Levorson and husband, Mitch, of Martinsburg; three grandchildren, James Anderson and wife, Molly, Jason Anderson, and Sara Wasson and husband, Taylor; one great-grandchild, Leah Anderson; two sisters, Doris Anderson of Winchester, Virginia and Edna Unger, of Inwood; sister-in-law, Norma Jean Siler, of Shepherdstown.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence T. Bender; one sister, Patsy Martin; two brothers, Joe Siler and Donald Siler and wife, Irene.

Celebration of Life Service was held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at Holiday Inn, Martinsburg.

Interment was private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
