Ricky L. McDaniel
Ricky Lee McDaniel, 59, of Shepherdstown, WV, was called home to that God who gave him life on September 21, 2017, after a long battle with cancer. He passed away surrounded by his family.
He was born to the late Robert “Jack” McDaniel and Alice Williams on December 6, 1957, in Stillwater, OK. Ricky honorably served two years for his church in the Italy, Milan mission from 1977-1979 and received a B.S. in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University in 1986.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Lynn McDaniel, and daughter, Laura Brooke McDaniel, with whom he is now joyously reunited.
He is survived by his second wife, Rebecca Jane McDaniel; children, Jeremy Michael McDaniel and his wife, Camron, Justin Lee McDaniel, and his wife, Amanda, and Heidi Lynn Barnes and her husband, Zach, and his stepdaughter, Sarah Joy Stare, and her husband, Matt; seven beautiful grandchildren; his mother, Alice Williams; and his brother, MarkMcDaniel and his wife, Jennifer.
He leaves a legacy of patiently enduring to the end. Despite numerous trials throughout his life that caused him immense suffering, both physically and spiritually, he remained faithful to the Lord. He loved to spend time with his family, ride his motorcycle, and work. He was proud to have worked for 30 years at the CIA. He will be missed by all who knew his gentle, kind temperament and quirky sense of humor.
He will be buried at Oakdale Cemetery in Depew, OK. A memorial service will also be held on Sunday, October 1 at 6:30 PM at the LDS Chapel in Harpers Ferry, WV.
