Karen Hill

Karen Hill, 68, of Kearneysville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, at Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born April 13, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio, she is the daughter of Helen Rose Strnad of Martinsburg and the late James John Strnad Sr.

She was an active community member within Jefferson County for nearly 40 years. Most recently, she volunteered at St. Leo Catholic Church, where she was also a member.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by four daughters, Lisa Hill of Woodbridge, Virginia, Sheri Hill of North Beach, Maryland, Deb Hoffman of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, and Missy Hill of Shepherdstown; five grandchildren; and one brother, John W. Strnad.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Alexander Hill Jr.; and one brother, James John Strnad Jr.

Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.

Memorial Mass was held at noon on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, at St. Leo Catholic Church, with Father Alfred Obiudu as celebrant. Interment prayers were said at St. Leo Cemetery.
