George G. Kinyon

George G. Kinyon, commonly known as “Pete,” passed away July 9, 2017, after a brief fight with cancer.

He was born in Kirkwood, Missouri, on Sept. 22, 1952, to Florence (Chamberlain) Kinyon and Frederick Kinyon.

He was an honorably discharged veteran submariner of the U.S. Navy and attended Shepherd University.

Most recently, he was a federal employee. Before that he also worked at Macy’s and for Loudoun County in Virginia.

He had strong environmental beliefs and did some volunteer work in that area over the years. This included some things for Yankauer, and he was a hiking guide at Cacapon for a while.

He leaves behind his wife, Marilyn Kinyon; son, Joseph Macus Niks; brother, Tom; and two nieces, Jennifer and Jodi.

Memorial will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
