M. Barrett Winstead

M. Barrett Winstead, 73, died peacefully, with his family at his side, Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, in Rockport, Maine.

Born in Martinsburg, Oct. 12, 1944, he was the son of Robert and Dorothy Barrett Winstead.

He was a 1962 graduate of Martinsburg High School and he attended Shepherd College.

He was predeceased by a grandson, Nicholas Frank Stevens; and the mother of his children, Judy Winstead.

Barrett is survived by his daughters, Laura Myers, of Rockland, Maine and Melissa Stevens and her husband, Russell, of Owls Head, Maine; his son, Scott M. Winstead and his wife, Melissa, of Hedgesville; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother, William H. Winstead, of Miami Lakes, Florida; and his sister, Meta S. Winstead, of Martinsburg

A celebration of Barrett’s life was held Sunday, Oct. 22, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Rockland.

The family requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Nicholas Frank Stevens Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Rockland Savings and Loan, 582 Main Street, Rockland, ME 04841.
