Wade D. Kesecker
Wade Damon Kesecker, age 86, of Berkeley Springs, died on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center.
Born Mar 17, 1931 at home in Spruce Pine Hollow in Morgan County, he was the son of the late Henry “Sonny” and Evelyn Risinger Kesecker.
He was a member of the Independent Church of God in Hedgesville. Wade was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School, earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Shepherd College and a Master’s Degree in special education from West Virginia University at Morgantown. He began his teaching career at Pleasant View School and then taught history and special education at Berkeley Springs High School. He was also a contractor, building many houses in the area. Wade enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Minnie Loraine Schofield Cockrell Kesecker, at home, three children, Belinda Jane Hensley of Newburgh, IN, Kevin Wade Kesecker of Romney, WV and Tara Marie Kesecker-Kyne of Hedgesville, one sister, Joy Unger of Berkeley Springs, five grandchildren, Stephen Craig Taylor, Wade Levi Hovermale and Crystal Marie Benson, all of Berkeley Springs, Melissa Kesecker of Hedgesville and Nicole Kesecker of Martinsburg, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Marie Annette Miller Kesecker, one sister, Bonnie Parker and five brothers, Morris, Cameron, Bernard “Mack,” Bradley and an infant, Fred Kesecker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov 28, 2017 at The Independent Church of God, 8703 Martinsburg Road, Hedgesville, with Pastors Lynnie and Ada Ambrose officiating. Interment will be in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the church and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
