James N. Creamer

James N. Creamer, 92, of Charles Town passed away Friday, February 14, 2020 at Willow Tree Manor, in Charles Town.

Born December 31, 1927 in Jefferson County. He was the son of the late Nelson Creamer and Eleanor Washington Creamer.

James retired from the Town of Shepherdstown in the Water Department.

He was a member of the St. John’s Baptist Church, Shepherdstown.

He is survived by his daughter, Diane Adams and husband Phillip, of Martinsburg, sons, Larry R. Creamer and wife Sharon, of Lexington, Virginia, Melvin S. Creamer, of Martinsburg; step-son, Preston Dozier and wife Cheryl of, California; seven grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Clarence Creamer and Thomas Creamer, both of Martinsburg; nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis G. Creamer who died February 2, 2016; sisters, Janet Williams and Frances Scott Creamer and brother, Charles “Duck” Creamer.

A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. on February 20, 2020 at the Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg with his son, lay speaker Larry Creamer, officiating.

Friends were received from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Feb. 20 at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town.
