Marvin J. Bowers II

Marvin James Bowers II, (Jimmy), of Shepherdstown, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 5, 2020 after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was born on March 31, 1972, in Charles Town. He is survived by his parents, Marvin J. Bowers (Jim) and Betty Morrison Bowers; three aunts and their spouses; a number of cousins; and lots of friends.

Jimmy was an avid soccer player and grateful to his coaches, Harold Bache, David Jones, and Gary Capriotti for teaching him sportsmanship and how to be a team player. Jimmy graduated from Jefferson High School in 1990. After graduation, he went to work for Boilermakers Local 193 with his father, grandfather, uncles and other family members. He later attended James Rumsey Vocational Tech School and graduated June 1995 at the top of his class as a Licensed Practical Nurse. He was employed as a LPN at Pangborn Corporation, Hagerstown, Maryland; Winchester Dermatology, Winchester, Virginia; and the Shenandoah Medical Center in the pediatric section, Martinsburg.

Marvin was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Della Schuler and Leon E. Morrison; paternal grandparents, Marvin T. and Bessie C. Bowers.

In the name of Jimmy Bowers a memorial service to celebrate Jimmy’s life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and thank you for every call, kind words, or prayers that has been provided during this difficult time. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Jones and staff and the WVU Jefferson Memorial Hospital and staff. A very special thank you to his aide, Tina for the comfort she brought to Jimmy for the past seven years.
