Donald W. Drish

Donald W. Drish, 80, of Ranson, passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, at his residence under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

He was born June 12, 1940, in Jefferson County. He was the son of the late James Woodrow Drish and Florence (McDonough) Drish.

Donald had been employed with the VA Medical Center, Martinsburg in the Housekeeping Department for 25 years. Prior, he had been employed with Powhatan Brass and Iron Work and many years with the former Dixie-Narco.

He was a member of the Summit Point Baptist Church.

He graduated from Charles Town High School, class of 1959.

He was a member of AARP.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in 1965 and 1966.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet (McDonald) Drish, at home; sons, Dwayne W. Drish and Carla Wiley of Kearneysville, Dale A. Drish and wife, Jodi, of Hedgesville; daughter, Dawn A. Shade and husband; John, of Shepherdstown; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce M. Pifer, of Middleway; brother, Philip O. Drish and wife, Sherry, of Kearneysville; nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn M. Mobley.

A graveside service was held 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, at the Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg with Pastor Jim Holt officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Summit Point Baptist Church, 96 Hawthorne Avenue, Summit Point, WV 25446.
