Dorothy J. Meyer
Dorothy J. Meyer, 85, of Leetown, passed away Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020, at her residence under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle with her husband and Pastor Karen Erskine-Valentine at her side.
She was born July 2, 1935, in Shepherdstown. She was the daughter of the late Ernest P. Willingham and Edith (Fyre) Willingham.
Dorothy retired after 37 years as the manager of the Dairy Queen in Ranson.
She was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Uvilla.
She graduated from Shepherdstown High School, class of 1953.
She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Donald G. Meyer; daughter, Sharon R. Staubs and husband, Chad, of Martinsburg; son, Stephen W. Jamison and wife, Cathy, of Dayton, Ohio; grandchildren, W.J. Barrett, Joshua Barrett, Allison Barrett, Kelly Smith, Allie Jamison; great-grandchildren, Joshua Barrett II, Madison Barrett, Ryder Barrett, Piper Barrett, E.O. Smith, Raylynn Smith, Jazzmin Harder; nieces, Karen Shade, Kim McNamee (Pat) and nephew, Jeff Shade (Missy).
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lillian Shade; brothers, Calvin and Ronnie Willingham.
The service will be private.
Arrangements are by the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town.
