Reba E. Wilt

Reba Elaine “Granny” Wilt, 88, of Ranson, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020 in the Stone Springs Hospital Center, with her loving granddaughter, Melissa by her side. Born April 21, 1932 in Harpers Ferry, she was the daughter of the late George William Wilt and Rose Anna Mason. Reba was a member of the Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church. She worked as a telephone operator for General Telephone in the 1950’s, worked for Century 21 Insurance and Real Estate then was the secretary at Asbury United Methodist Church for over 20 years. After retiring from the church she worked as a teacher’s aide for the Wee Disciples Christian Academy. Everyone loved Granny, she was so loving and caring to everyone.

She is survived by son, Charles “Nelson” Wilt and wife, Paula, of Charles Town; and daughter, Helen Hamill of Ranson; sister, Jean Danner, of Harpers Ferry; and sister-in-law, Josephine Wilt, of Ranson; grandchildren, Troy Wilt (Magic), Michelle Ashton, Keena Wilt and companion, Charles, Major Kyle Wilt, USMC (Jill), Melissa Rudolph (John), James Hamill (Rachel) and Cindy Rakic (Mike); great-grandchildren, and Granny’s little angels, Tyler, Talia, Taelyn, Jayden, Khari, Nadia, Patrick, Gianna, Danielle, Annika, Asher, Marley, Lydia, Ernie, Shaw, Johnny, Amelia, Eliza, Adam and Nicole and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, George Melvin Wilt; son-in-law, David Hamill; four brothers and four sisters.

Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, 2020, at the Edge Hill Cemetery.
